People who are suffering from low cholesterol levels seem to develop a tendency to fall victim to Parkinson’s disease! The cholesterol-controlling statins could lead to increase the chances to develop the illness in numbers of people.
Eventually, to help control cholesterol levels, about 2.3 million adults in the UK take statins. And, the American scientists have found that those who have lower levels of cholesterol are more likely to develop the degenerative neurological disorder of Parkinson’s disease.
Though, the link between statins and Parkinson’s is not yet understood, health charities have urged caution of the links. Once the research finding is confirmed, there would be no looking back in diagnosing Parkinson’s disease in the next five years with the setting in of the drug’s effects.
