The 2007 has been predicted the active hurricane season, and the changing climate across the world followed by aggressive natural phenomenon seems to be supporting the predictions.
But, with the year rolling by, things do not seem to be happing the predictions’ way. The year is rather proving a quieter one. The more active Atlantic hurricane-bringing La Nina has been predicted to be absent for the next two months - apparently a news of relief for the habitants living at the eye of the atrocious hurricane’s activities.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has predicted that the cooling of Pacific Ocean waters will not occur this year, that triggers the devastating wild storms.
But, it is not all relief for the hurricane activity-prone region dwellers. They need to stay as alert as before as the absence of La Nina doesn’t necessarily herald a tame summer for tropical storms and hurricanes, warns Dennis Feltgen, meteorologist and spokesman for NOAA in Miami.
In support to his warnings, Feltgen explained,
There are so many other ingredients that contribute to the development of tropical cyclones, it’s not just the fact that we don’t have a La Nina that comes into play here.
Whatever other activities may contribute equally in sprawling up a devastating hurricane in the region, the news of the La Nina absence has brought hopes for many that would experience a less fierce season.
